A downloadable game

This is a simple LÖVE project trying to copy the core gameplay of the classic Snake game. No states, no graphics, nothing fancy...

  • ESCAPE to quit
  • UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT to move the snake
  • ENTER to restart the game when game is over

Eat as much red squares as you can without eating yourself or touching the screen borders.

This is a project I made for my beginners fellows from the online french game school GameCodeur so they could look at the source code and borrow from it.

Ceci est un simple projet LÖVE tentant de copier le coeur du gameplay du classique Snake. Pas d'états, pas de graphismes, rien d'étonnant...

  • ECHAP pour quitter
  • HAUT, BAS, GAUCHE et DROITE pour déplacer le serpent
  • ENTREE pour redémarrer le jeu quand la partie est teminée

Mangez autant de carrés rouges que vous pouvez sans vous mordre la queue ou toucher les bords de l'écran.

C'est un projet que j'ai créé pour mes camarades débutants de l'école en ligne française de jeux vidéos GameCodeur afin qu'ils puissent regarder le code source et s'en inspirer.

Install instructions

If you're on Windows platform, you can either download the jaysan_snake.zip file or the jaysan_snake.love file if you already have LÖVE installed on your computer.

For other platforms, before you can play the game, you must install LÖVE on your computer. Then you can just run the love file.

Si vous êtes sous Windows, vous pouvez soit télécharger le fichier jaysan_snake.zip ou le fichier jaysan_snake.love si vous avez déjà installé LÖVE sur votre ordinateur.

Pour les autres plate-formes, avant de pouvoir jouer au jeu, vous devez installer LÖVE sur votre ordinateur. Ensuite, il ne vous reste plus qu'à exécuter le fichier love.
